In the past year no doubt I've made some of you happy and some of you occasionally mad. But I think & hope you know I've done my absolute best with integrity & a full heart of complete commitment to our city. Have been out so much - most days & nights & I'm going to truly cherish the next few days in my lovely home which I lock & leave all those other days.
Many of you don't appreciate the hours, the reading, the decisions, the considerations and the hundreds of daily emails & may only see via the photos the happy days and hundreds of wonderful people & places I get to go. It's incredible and an honour but I am looking forward to eating my own food at my own table specially set & done with love for my family! I'm a bit rusty but will be baking & playing domestic goddess today & tomorrow! Wish me luck
I'm grateful every day for people like Paul Anastas & Angela Smith who make my life more ordered & get me where I need to be on time, every time! They're just great people but most of all life long friends as a result of what we see & do each day.

In the days and times we find ourselves in where there is sadness so apparent & around us in many forms from poverty & homelessness to the Sydney Siege & other crazy events that have occurred so just remember we can all cherish the simple things a little more & just show gratitude for all we do have.
I love Perth, I adore it's citizens & in those immortalised words of one Abraham Lincoln - "you can't please all of the people all of the time" - even if I say so our city and all we've achieved is pretty awesome!
We've delivered so much from free wifi to the gorgeous fountain in Forrest Place which brings a smile to my face every time I pass &when I hear the kids squealing as they frolic through it. From festivals & Slidestreet to the far more significant & lesser known achievements of business development & key connections with top medical research facilities & the key work via our IBM Cities Challenge; our new Library which will open next year & many approvals plus plans for the future on a strategic & operational level.
We have ongoing about $72 M more worth of work and even in the reform process our determination to see Perth be recognised as the strong city it is shows we are delivering.
